How it all started
Ward committees have been an important part of grass-roots organizing for a long time. But in our social media era, people forget to get involved in their own neighborhoods. We’re trying to rebuild that neighborhood spirit!
Our story
Ward 1 of Cambridge Dems is Chaired by Mary Lee Dunn. A former communications professional, now retired, Mary Lee grew up in Brookline, and has been committed to civic engagement since childhood.
Ward 2 of Cambridge Dems is Chaired by Danielle Allen. A Harvard prof and democracy advocate, Danielle grew up in California, first came to Massachusetts in the 1990s, came back in 2015, and, like Mary Lee, has been committed to civic engagement since childhood.
Our approach
Our vision is to stand as the foremost opportunity for people in our neighborhood to feel well informed about local, state, and national politics; to hear directly from elected officials and hold them accountable; and to feel connected to our community and effective in making our voices heard.
